ACTIVE SCAM ALERT: Beware of Fraudulent Texts and Emails

Fraud Alerts Email

Avadian members continue to be targeted by fraudsters seeking to gain access to their accounts.

IMPORTANT: Do not click on links in text messages claiming there are fraudulent transactions on your account. It is imperative that you know that no breach has occurred at Avadian.

Scammers are contacting Avadian members and non-members alike with texts, aiming to scare victims into taking actions that put their account security at risk. They cast a wide net in hopes of reaching someone who is actually an Avadian member (known as “phishing,” “vishing,” or “smishing”). It is important that you remember that their contacting you does not mean they know you’re an Avadian member.

We cannot urge you strongly enough to remain hyper-vigilant.

  • Do not click links in texts or texts that you are not expecting.
  • Read the instructions that accompany any secure access codes.
    • Texts/emails from Avadian will specifically tell you how you are to use the code (online or over the phone).
  • Never give tell someone your online banking username and password over the phone.
    • Avadian employees will never ask you for this information.
  • Remember phone numbers can be “spoofed,” so you cannot trust the caller ID on your phone.
  • It is always safer to go to our website by entering avadiancu.com into your browser yourself.
